This Manuka honey is very flavorful and easy to use. I put it on a warm piece of bread every day. I would say that it's not a good idea to just eat it off a spoon. I tried that and ended up with a coughing spell for a few minutes. I think it's better eaten with other food. As for health claims, you have to read up on that yourself to see what the science is saying. One of my favorite places to learn about these things is National Institute of Health web site, and other reputable places.
